New Release: Deadbeat Girl – When You Went

South Florida native Deadbeat Girl returns with new single ‘When You Went’. The DnB-inspired track follows Deadbeat Girl’s debut EP ‘What Will it Take’ which dropped in March this year. The 20-year-old, real name Val Olson, had this to say about their new track, ”When I wrote this song, I was in the process of healing from a relationship in which I felt very betrayed and belittled. I’ve come to realize that it’s okay to be upset about the things that you go through. It’s okay to take the time to really feel it and bask in it. I want people to find comfort in the music and scream along to if they’re going through something. When You Went is definitely a song that you can let loose and dance to, as well as cry to”. Deadbeat Girl is an artist everyone should be keeping an eye on, at only 20 years of age their lyrics and sounds are beyond their years, and with only one ep and a handful of singles there is still so much to come.
