New Release: Touch by Lilac

LILAC are buzzed to announce the release of their third single ‘Touch’, out everywhere on 8th September 2023!

LILAC are a female-fronted floral indie band based in Reading. The band currently have their full attention on spreading the floral indie. disco to the live music scene across the UK. Already this year has seen Lilac supporting one of the UK’s hottest new guitar bands, Hot Wax and perform stripped sets at their local HMV stores. The band have also brought their punk attitude and hazy reverb distorted sound to a headline slot at one of Reading’s ‘Are You Listening? Festival’ venues.

In January 2023, Beth and Lewis travelled up to Liverpool’s most iconic recording studio – The Motor Museum to spend the day with Ben Harper (The Mysterines, The Luka State, The Sherlocks) to work on the track. Ben’s previous work with The Mysterines drew Lilac to work with him on Touch. As a result, the band have a darker floral indie tune with an atmospheric verse and a gritty anthemic chorus which suits their song that has more anger and lust than previous Lilac releases. It features one of Lilac’s most iconic ‘in your face’ guitar solos!

Touch has been a part of the band’s floral indie disco since day one, being one of the original tracks that Beth and Lewis wrote when the band started writing remotely during lockdown in 2020. The song has since evolved into a pure floral indie anthem and is a staple in Lilac’s live set. After having recorded their previous releases ‘It’s Illusional’ and ‘Losing Myself (In You)’ in Lewis’s DIY bedroom studio, the band were eager to get into a studio to record Touch and work with a producer to create a darker tune with more grit than previously demoed.
