2 days until: The Great Escape 2025

It’s almost time to enjoy Brighton as it beams with brilliant artists, eager to play their sounds, explore the city, find new connections and celebrate the love of music! The Great Escape festival will commence on Wednesday 15th and run til Saturday 17th. ASBO Magazine can’t wait to explore, so here are some of our picks from this year’s line-up:

  1. Pretty Girl

Melbourne-born and London-based producer/singer and DJ Pretty Girl will play her set at Patterns on Saturday night, so join us for a boogie! She delivers lucid and dreamy beats amongst delicate vocals. Slip away into the night and vibe to her music all night long.

2. KABEAUSHÈ

KABEAUSHÈ is pushing boundaries with their unique and scattered sound, featuring piercing vocals amongst intriguing beats. Their music is positive and full of joy, amongst an alien-like air of mystery that leaves you wanting more.

3. MOULD

Bristol punk band MOULD have a gritty and powerful sound, screaming into the abyss with heavy drums and powerful strings. New on the scene but distinct and memorable, you can watch them live at the iconic Green Door Store and feel the music in your veins!

4. The Boy From The South

Indie pop singer-songwriter The Boy From The South brings positivity and feel-good energy, with quirky lyrics and joyous melodies. Playing the Prince Albert – he is the perfect artist to go and see for a calming, uplifting time during the festival.

5. Jo Hill

Singer-songwriter Jo Hill brings relatable and energising music to uplift and inspire. Her soothing music narrates and ups and downs of girlhood. Don’t miss her live set at the Komedia Studio!

6. DICE

Take a chance with Australian indie-pop group DICE. With a voice as addictive as sugar, sweet instruments and good vibes only, they just know how to capture the sun and pour it out into their music. Go see them shine at Komedia basement.

7. Borderline

Indie-pop dream Borderline from New Zealand bring upbeat indie music with an edge. Resembling the 1975, the band have their own flavour. Expect intense guitar and catchy melodies with relatable lyrics. Catch them at Patterns and watch them light up the room with feel-good energy and sound.

8. RUBII

Exciting and talented UK artist RUBII brings a truly unique mix of hip-hop, neo-soul and R&B. Her gentle and chill rap with soulful lyrics are intertwined with soothing beats. Check her out live at The Arch.

9. WRKHOUSE

If you want some high-energy alt-pop with plenty of headbang opportunities, go and see WRKHOUSE. Their energy is wild and free, with songs varying from soft indie to heavy rock, with elements of pop. Unique, mysterious and intriguing, WRKHOUSE are one to watch. Find them at Paganini Ballroom.
