Words/Rachel June

It’s almost time to float from venue to venue and discover your new favourite artist at The Great Escape 2025! This year will see a huge variety of sounds filling up the iconic venues across Brighton from Wednesday 14th – Sunday 18th May, and ASBO will be here to soak it all in. Let’s hope for sunshine for the beach parties, and strap in for yet another year of wonderful new music. Below are some of ASBO’s top picks to go and see:

  1. Jools

The UK punk rock band Jools showcase fierce vocals, headbang-worthy instruments and insightful but fun lyrics. Imagine a mix between Linkin Park & My Chemical Romance with a British punk edge and female vocals charging through. Jools is a powerful force to be reckoned with.

2. SOAPBOX

Glasgow punk band SOAPBOX combines satisfying screams with wild and unruly guitars and heavy drums. The heavy Scottish accent preaches relatable and enjoyable lyrics, unlike anything else.

Bones Ate Arfa are a psychedelic street punk/desert rock band who are causing a stir in the scene with their high-energy sound. Their live performances are wild, young, and free – just like them. Their songs are catchy loud, proud, and a breath of fresh air.
