M.ANIFEST, who hails from Ghana’s capital Accra is one of the city’s most internationally known stars. Making his name through various high-quality solo releases and collaborations with artists such as Chicago-based rapper Vic Mensa and MOBO nominated Ghanaian producer Juls (Goldlink, Ms Banks, Kojey Radical, Pa Salieu) M.ANIFEST is an artist whose name is cemented as one of Ghana’s most entertaining and talented musical exports.

He has now revealed his latest track, entitled ‘La Vida’ a Rap focused banger full of African inspired percussion and lush vocal arrangements. The track is driven by the Juls produced instrumental, with the Afrobeat inspired drums complimenting the other percussion instruments creating a captivating sound that keeps you engaged.

Vocally M.ANIFEST provides a brilliant performance, his rapping and singing complement each other perfectly as his vocals weave within the instrumental arrangements creating a sound that has multiple layers. M.ANIFEST raps in both English and Ghana’s native language ‘Twi’ throughout the track which provides some great variation sonically.

On the track, he has said, “it is a song I wrote with a mischievous grin. I imagined freeing myself and getting up to no good with a woman I dig with both of us having no care in the world about people, opinions, or rules. It almost felt like I was living vicariously through some of my own memories”. About the music video, the Ghanaian star adds that, “we shot it in Madina, which is the neighborhood in Ghana I grew up in, and the essence was to tap into childhood memories and evoke a feeling of nostalgia”.

The accompanying video, directed by South African director Adriaan Lou,w (Major Lazer, Wizkid, Mabel and Burna Boy), is equally strong. It’s African setting shows off the natural beauty of the continent perfectly and draws you in with its lush landscapes and beautiful beaches.‍

Not just an icon in Ghana, M.ANIFEST has put out six critically acclaimed projects over the past decade, gaining countless awards. Polished, stylish and feel-good, La Vida is a perfect representation of what has made M.ANIFEST so popular.
