Pick of the Week: Kelela - LMK

Internet’s rising R&B star Kelela has been teasing her first studio album for a hot minute, and earlier this week, finally released 'LMK' (Let Me Know), the first track off her long-awaited debut album, Take Me Apartdue October 6th. The first single is a fine example of her soulful tones that we’ve come to love from previous releases, Cut 4 Me and Hallucinogen. If you haven’t yet been exposed to Kelela, it’s enough to draw you in to her world.

Joel Baker - Bags of Dreams

Following the release of his Abra Cadabra-featuring single, 'Story', Nottingham-born Joel Baker returned today with follow up single, Bags of Dreams. Also acting as the title track of his upcoming EP due later this year, the single is another biographical track telling the story of Baker moving into a big city only to be led into disappointment - a story all too familiar with many.

Highlight: Wrabel - The Village

Out singer Wrabel is quickly building a name for himself, both within the LGBTQ community and the music world. Having previously released his debut EP in 2014, the singer is building to the release of the follow up, We Could Be Beautiful later this year and The Village is the second track to be released. The video, released earlier this week champions daily trans issues following last week’s Trump announcement regarding trans people serving in the US military.

Honorary mentions: Wretch 32 - Whistle (feat. Donae’o and Kojo Funds), Kill J - Gravity, Gia - What I Like, Kele Okereke - Grounds for Resentment (feat. Olly Alexander), Kesha - Hymn, Girl Ray - Don’t Go Back At Ten
