Although she first saw features working with Bastille and Sub Focus, singer/songwriter Kenzie May first hit our radar back in 2014 with the release of her debut single, Hide and Seek. Her soft vocals were backed with conviction and with each single release, May keeps getting better.

Follow up single, Skeleton Key is the song that has truly been a staple in our regular listening since it's release. The song finds May in a meaningless sexual relationship where she gives herself to a significant other but keeping in total control of her mind.

Bar a few features on producer tracks, May took a brief hiatus from releasing her own work until late 2015 when she returned with Honey. Complete with the video treatment, the single saw May sit while she literally almost drowned in honey. Filmed in one complete take, the singer had to pause to spit out honey filling through her nostrils and mouth.

Her last single, Never Find Another is a 90's throwback with an Alanis Morisette-esque angst lyrics mixed with an R&B production. It's the kind of song you can listen to on your own or bop along to with you friends on your third bottle of wine on Galentine's Day, which is like every Friday.

May first teased the possibility of an LP last year following the release of Honey in an interview with Pigeons and Peacocks, although bar the release of Never Find Another and further features on singles from Race Banyon and Austin Ato it's been pretty quiet. Here's hoping there will be loads more from Kenzie.
