Jacob Banks brought the house down when he came out to a sold-out crowd at the Village Underground at Shoreditch on Monday October 30th...

The soulful singer, who has just finished the first leg of his Jacob Banks world tour has taken his show all throughout Europe and his first stop in London. Banks who has been rising through the music waves since his breakthrough in 2013, has taken to the music scene with his soulful R&B voice, and Monday’s show showed that through.

Show-casing his catalogue of three Eps, as well as some new material off his upcoming album, Jacob took the crowd on a soulful journey with a mix of emotions. Play tracks that ranged from his current single ‘Unknown’, and his other tracks including ‘Monster’ ‘Worthy’, ‘Sink or Swim’, ‘Photograph’ ‘Silver Lining’, as well as giving a taste of his album to come.

Having gotten a chance to catch up with Jacob before the show, he spoke about the vibes and atmosphere he tries to set for his live shows and said, “I just go with my feeling. I try to create a personal connection between me and the people. I tell jokes it’s very important to me that people don’t see me as some godlike figure I want people to see me as their home. It’s very personal we feel the same thing everybody wants to be love and give love and I’m just trying to get everybody to see that I’m just your guy from the ends trying to make sense of it all.”

As for what the experience has been like for him embarking on his first Tour, Jacob has spoken on the experience being a positive one so far: “ It’s been overwhelming in the best way. I started singing these songs in my bathroom in Coventry and I never thought I’d be able to see the world from the back of it. I started making music to impress my friends and I consider everybody that listens to my songs people I could possibly be friends with, so I go around to all these parts of the world and I make new friends every day. I’m just really grateful so going on this tour makes me grateful it’s my first ever tour which I never thought would come so I just feel very grateful and very blessed.”

At last night's show it was prominent that the crowd had nothing but love for Jacob. We are looking forward to seeing Jacob bring the house down again, once he plays a second London show, this time taking on KOKO in Camden. If this show is anything to off on, then the crowd will definitely not be disappointed.
