ASBO Live: Post Malone

“Thank you so much” were the words on repeat from Post Malone last night during his final show of his European tour. Having played two nights at London’s O2 Arena.

Malone who released his second album Beerbongs and Bentley’s last year is somewhat of an unexpected force. His breakout song Rockstar which was the first single of his album featuring 21 Savage brought his name out to the mainstream audience and since then he has been growing.

After embarking on his tour to promote the album he ended his show with two nights at London’s O2 Arena. After what must seem to be an extensive run of shows for him he took the stage at 9:30 and played to a crowd that was full of energy, weed and excitement.

Considering the amount of shows we have watched at the experience including Nicki Minaj whose show we just caught at the beginning of this week we couldnt help feel that Post Malone was a bit underwhelming.

With little to no production, apart from two large screens which he came out from, as well as a runway with lighting from above and the occasional laser beams, fire flames at the side Malone took to the stage by himself and pretty much stayed in position throughout the whole night. Even the visuals seemed to be lacking as they consisted of footage of Malone performing and the odd background which related to a track.

I have to say reflecting back the the show. The one thing which may have been okay about the show was the set-list which consisted of majority of his songs from Beerbongs and Bentley’s even so it seemed as if the vocal performance wasn’t as up to scratch as it could be.

It would seem that Post Malone has some work to do perhaps he was feeling the end of the tour mixed with exhaustion. We’ll just have to see what he comes up with next.
