ASBO Live: Aminé

Our very own Ishah Shah went down to the O2 Shepherds Bush empire for the second sold out London show but most importantly the wrap up of Portland, Oregon based rapper Adam Aminé Daniel’s sold out tour.

If you’ve never been to an Aminé concert then you’d know abut his infamous ‘Tour Pants’, a handmade couture outfit that collects the names and aspirations of one lucky fan each night.

“I’m going to pick one of you beautiful people in the crowd to come up here, write your name on my pants with your goals and dreams in life.”

It’s not just his cartoon like visuals that create humour and laughter at Aminé shows but his ever lasting energy that bounces around the stage with such passion. A fair amount of Good For you was  sung back from the crowd with bangers like ‘Yellow’, ‘Blinds’, ‘Heebiejeebies’, ‘Wedding Crashers’ and of course a slowed down ‘Caroline’ to get the crowd really pumping. It seemed like his latest release Onepointfive, was the record that attracted half of the younger audience, enjoying their last day of half term with more rap beat energy.

While his first night in London brought out local artist AJ Tracey, tonight was a much bigger and grander experience.

I mean It’s only right that he played the song ‘Spice Girl’ with an actual spice… girl? Melanie C joined the rapper on stage to unite for a one off Zig-a-zig-ah, Zig-a-zig-ah, song.
