Coachella announces 2019 Lineup

One week into the New Year and we have been graced with the official announcement of this years line to the Coachella Music Festival which will be taking place in April.

It was only this time last year when we were graced with the announcement that Beyoncé who was meant to perform at the festival in 2017 was going to be taking the stage at the festival as well as Eminem and The Weeknd.

Those of us that tuned in to the live stream (myself included) and some that were fortunate to have been in attendance were blessed with one of the greatest Coachella performances in history. The festival which I now refer to as Beychella also saw performances from The Weeknd and Eminem and other artists including SZA, Tyler the Creator, Kali Uchis, 6LACK, THEY. Daniel Ceaser and more.

We all knew going forward that it was going to be hard to follow up a year that included Beyoncé and putting together the lineup following that would be a job that would be close to impossible so it is not surprise that as the announcement for this years festival was revealed we were a little underwhelmed.

Whilst the array of artists taking the stage is pretty impressive including the likes of Janelle Monaé, Kid Cudi, Billie Eilish, Anderson Paak, Ella Mai, Solange, H.E.R, Little Simz and more it’s the headliners that have us feeling a bit lukewarm.

Gracing the stage this year as headliners for the festival this year are Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Pop superstar of the moment Ariana Grande.

Following a stellar 2018 career wise it is not really that much of a surprise that Ariana Grande be gracing the Coachella stage. Similarly with Childish Gambino who released his socially charged anthem This is America last year and is in the middle of embarking on his said to be final tour as Childish Gambino.

However we can’t help but feel that post Beychella everything will feel subpar. I guess we will have to wait untill April to see how it all pans out
