After what was a great year in terms of live shows that the ABO Music team attended. We couldn’t wait to get right back into in the New Year and kicking off what is looking to be another good year of shows coming to London we went down to catch songstress of the moment Ella Mai as she played her first of two shows at London’s O2 Shepard’s Bush Empire.

Fresh of the release of her debut album Ella Mai, the London born “R&B” singer embarked on ‘The Debut Tour’ which kicked off this week in the UK. Before heading off to Europe and making its way stateside. The show which was the first of a two night stint at London’s Shepard’s Bush Empire was filled with all of the fan favourites from the album.

Ella who has been building her career since she released her first EP Troubled back in 2015 has since released 3 EPs prior to her debut album and has played shows in London including the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen, O2 Academy Islington and now her biggest show at Shepards Bush. Whilst the show featured tracks from her album true Ella fans will know that she had been grinding for this moment for a while now and so it was no surprise that her fans came out and sold out both shows stanning for her.

The setlist true to the albums sounds was vibey and chilled throughout the night. Songs from the included the songs Sauce, Whatchamacallit, Easy, Close, Cheap Shot as well her breakout singled Boo’d Up, Naked and Trip.

The production of the show which was pretty much single in relation to the show featured visuals throughout the show with lighting that served Ella well. Even her outfit seemed to really go and everything worked together well.

Fans of Ella Mai who are still to catch her on the rest of her tour will not be dissapointed. As she plays a second night at the Shepard’s Bush Empire before going to Europe and the rest of the tour we are glad that we were able to catch Ella at this moment of her career as we are sure she has a long road ahead of her.
