ASBO Live: Mabel

When ASBO first came across Mabel she played a show to a couple of people in a room as part of the Selfridges Music Matter event series last year. Since then she has gone to release a string of successful singles and collaborations. Release a mixtape Ivy to Roses and embark on two headline tours and this is has been in the space of one year. We were more than happy to head to Brixton’s O2 Academy last night to check out Mabel’s sold out show on the last night of her tour.

The show itsself was quite simple in terms of the set up and the vibe was easy. Taking the stage at 9pm Mabel treated her fans to an hour of constant energy and a good time.

Mabel performed a setlist which included tracks from her Mixtape as well as her string of singles that she has released this year. The songstress also treated fans to new music previewing 3 new tracks which we are hoping are going to be part of her much anticipated debut album which we are hoping is coming next year. Songs included her latest single One Shot, Know Me Better, A cover of Ne-Yo’s So Sick, Ring Ring, Cigarette and new tracks Ok, Bad Behaviour and Don’t Call Me Up.

Of course the show was not going to happen without a few surprise appearances and in the case of Mabel of course non other than collaborators Not3s and Kojo Funds took to the stage to perform their tracks My Lover, Fine Line before ending the show with Finders Keepers

Throughout the show Mabel really shined and proved to have herself some loyal fans who really came out in full force. The production whilst simple eliminating the use of visuals and opted for the use of lighting that came from all angles still worked out in Mabel’s favour.

The past year for Mabel has been one that I’m sure she is going to remember for a long time and with a successful tour behind her I’m sure she has so much more coming in 2019 and we can’t wait to see.
