Graduate Fashion Week Name 2017 Winner
Last Night, Halina North from Edinburgh College of the Arts walked away with the prestigious Christopher Bailey Gold Award, as well as being awarded with the Hilary Alexander Trailblazer award.
North, whose collection features a series of sculptural, proportion twisting dresses made from recycled paper and plastics. She said after the show that the she hopes her sustainable approach is adopted more widely in the fashion industry.
Fellow Edinburgh College of Arts students Ruth Williams and Maddie Williams picked up the awards for visionary knitwear and catwalk textiles respectively, with the M&S Womenswear Prize also going to an Edinburgh student, Irene D’Antonio. The Debenhams Menswear Award went to Daniel Rynne from the Arts University Bournemouth. The George Catwalk to Store award was won by Laura Capello from Bath Spa University.
