Thousands of festival goers were in California attending the first weekend of Coachella. The annual three-day Music and Art Festival featured exciting headling sets from Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga to Lauryn Hill and Drake. It is hard to fault Coachella music wise, especially when you’re forced to experience it through social media pages.
With the plethora of celebrities and influencers, you know we spent our weekend analysing their outfits for inspiration.
Noah Cyrus debuted Make You Cry the second single on her first album NC-17 wearing a pair of heart and patchy covered Lucky Brand skinny jeans and a matching denim jacket.
Quick question. Is it a coincidence that someone dressed up as a human sized Care Bear and Noah had to take a few pictures with the fuzzy creature? It wouldn’t be the first time a Cyrus has got up close and personal with a bear, it must be a family thing. On a serious note, the 17-year-old is one to keep an eye out for this year and we just want to say thank you, girl, for reminding us that the denim trend stays in!
Our ‘truly iconic’ and favourite troublemaker, Joanne The Scammer was doing what she does best ‘scamming half of the men at Coachella’ with Solange Knowles! Don’t believe me? The receipts are in the caption of her most recent Instagram post. Also, Solange shared a picture on her Instagram with Joanne and set her location as ‘Scam site’ but has since deleted that post. Thanks to the scamming duo we understand that festivals are the perfect excuse to play around with colour. Solange sported a beautiful red lace Kim Shui jumpsuit fresh off the runway. Although, I am yet to be sold on the flower crown as a trend for 2017. Sorry Joanne.
Staying within the theme of pairs, have you seen Selena Gomez and The Weeknd? After months of speculation, the lowkey couple have finally given us raw evidence they are together. After all, your relationship is not real if you don’t have an affectionate selfie on Instagram! Even Paris Hilton left a comment under the stunning selfie stating the pair are ‘couple goals’ and 6.5 million likes later, we could not agree more. Selena’s sky blue floral print summer dress had a lightweight fit and spaghetti strap details with a matching scarf. It synced perfectly with her boyfriend’s patchwork flannel jacket and distressed jeans. Did I mention they wore similar trainers and aviators? We gathered festival desert style vibes from these two, a trend you do not want to ignore.
Leave it to Kylie Jenner to ditch her usual fun yet fierce flower crown Coachella look and champion the current SKIN IS IN movement. No wonder her rumoured beau Travis Scott supposedly can’t get enough of her. The 19-year-old reality star turned heads with her neon yellow LOB which she complimented with simple, figure grabbing halter neck gold dress and black boots. On day two, she shocked us all with neon purple hair! Like Tyga, we can’t keep up with her!
We must give our top spot to our game changing babe, Bad Gal RiRi. If you loved the Adam Selman dress she wore to the CFA Fashion Awards in 2014 you will drop your jaw at this. A casual $8,480 later, she rocked Alessandro Michele’s Gucci’s Fall 2017 diamond bodysuit; runway to Rihanna, literally. Although the matching face cover leaves her unrecognisable, the Gucci tank top, denim shorts and FENTY X Puma sneaker-boots scream perfection. She slayed this look all the way down to her relatable Instagram caption, “I can’t go home yet, cuz enough people ain’t seen my outfit.” Wonder what time she left?
