Ocean's 8 is about to be the movie of the summer

This year we have seen a number of films that have been well worth the anticipation from February's Black Panther which was one of the biggest movies of the year so far to the much anticipated Avengers Follow up the year has been nothing short of movies taking the big screen by storm. And another movie which we know is about to do the same thing is Ocean's 8.

The much anticipated film which was announced as a spinoff to the much loved Oceans Franchised includes a star studded lineup of actress taking power. The movie stars actresses Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Helena Bonham Carter and newbie on the actress scene Rihanna.

When the first trailer for the movie dropped back in December of last year the internet went bad. Not only for the fact that the movie looks epic but also for the fact that in a time where women are speaking up and taking control and challenges the stereo-types when it comes to movies this movie included a bunch of women who will kicking ass on screen.

Don't get us wrong we have seen women in these roles before Lara Craft Tomb Radier, Wonderwoman, Cat woman, SALT, Charlie's Angels. It has been a while since we've seen women taking the lead in a heist movie. And this one could be the perfect one.

The storyline follows Debbie Ocean who is the sister to Ocean's 8 Danny Ocean who attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City's star-studded annual Met Gala, and in doing so assembles a team of 8 women to assist her in pulling it off.

The movie which is out on June 8th (NEXT WEEK FRIDAY) in the USA and hits the UK on June 18th is definitely going to be worth seeing. Already the press runs have begun in the US and from what we have seen and heard online it seems like its not going only going to be a fun movie to watch but also a fun one to make a number of actresses in the film have spoken about what it was including group chats and time on set and we are definitely so jealous that we could not hang out on that set.

Do yourself a favour and make sure that you are first in line to get your tickets and make sure you know that this is the movie to see of the summer.

Oceans 8 opens in UK theatres on June 18th. Check out all information about the movie here.
