Dreamy, summer-y sweetness makes up the delectable dublon, an exciting and fast-growing Jazz/house DJ from Norway. Early classics from the 2000s influenced his music, as well as jazz – a genre reimagined and embraced in recent years for its charm and versatility. dublon is inspired by artists like Anton Westerlin & Chaos in the CBD, and his sound is perfect to dance your troubles away to with plenty of avenues to get lost in. The playfulness of jazz mixed with the funky beats of house music unveils a dream world with infinite horizons. Songs to sip a cocktail to, whilst watching waves crash, letting the beats tickle your senses.
In April, dublon was surprised and delighted to sell out his first headline show at the Jazz Cafe in London, a standout moment that he will forever cherish. Music runs through him; he feels most at home jamming behind the decks, watching a sea of people get lost in the music, dancing with joy. “I have always liked funky disco and jazz.” He explains, “It’s not too serious, it’s playful and has good vibes”.
A lesson dublon learnt and passed on to inspiring artists is “creativity can be forced. You don’t have to wait to be inspired”. Notably, he remembers some of his best songs were born during those uninspired times. So, get to the studio and just do it, no matter how you feel – who knows, you might produce your best track yet.
If you didn’t catch him on his European tour, be sure to catch him this year as he adventures across the US and Canada in September. He will also play the London Jazz Cafe Festival in August 2025. After the success of debut EP ‘Nectar’, Dublon will work on new music over the summer, traveling to Copenhagen, believing that a change of scenery will inspire new creativity. Taking himself out of his comfort zone and challenging himself is sure to inspire some golden tracks.
This year he is excited to collaborate with jazz instrumentalists, letting his creativity run wild. So be ready to hear more of dublon as he continues to skyrocket into the dance music industry. Check out his music, and feel the worries of the world slip away.
